Acton Minutemen and Militia Companies
ACTON COMPANY RAISED!

Captain Davis Company raised! November 1774 Townsmen, noting the chosen path of resistance to the Crown, voted by the Citizenry, have volunteered to form a company of Minutemen and have chosen, Isaac Davis their Captain.

The company by mutual agreement meets twice each week for instruction and drill.

Able bodied men of resolve to support our rights, and even to encounter death are invited to join their fellow townsmen to join with Captain Davis and his men.

The actions of General Gage and his troops of recent give cause for alarm. The action of the town to raise sums for the use of the province in the common defense will doubtless provoke further the Royal Governor!
